NEW ORLEANS – Taysom Hill powered and spun his way through at least four missed tackles by the New York Giants for an 8-yard touchdown run Sunday to give the New Orleans Saints a 14-7 lead early in the third quarter.

Hill took the shotgun snap and ran through traffic in the middle, powering past attempted tackles.

Hill has reverted back to his familiar do-everything role in New Orleans as a read-option quarterback/running back/tight end/receiver after he lost out to Jameis Winston in this summer’s starting QB battle.

Last week, Hill helped the Saints clinch a win at New England with a fourth-quarter TD run. This week. He provided a needed boost after the Saints offense was sagging a bit in the first half.

Winston provided a boost of his own two plays earlier with a 58-yard completion to receiver Marquez Callaway on the first play of the second half.
