"I am Representation of New India," Virat Kohli said

Team India’s young skipper, Virat Kohli said that he is representation of New India.

Virat Kohli while responding to Greg Chapel said that he is the representation of New India.

Virat Kohli was asked abouthis aggressive brand of cricket coupled with a fighting attitude that the former Australia captain, who also served as India coach, found similar to the mindset of his countrymen.

“I would like to say that I have always been myself,” the skipper said during a virtual media conference ahead of the opening Test against Australia here starting Thursday.

“The way my personality and character is, I am the representation of new India. For me, that’s how I look at it,” he added.

“In my mind, it’s not (about) being compared to the Australian mindset as such. It’s how we have started to stand up as the Indian cricket team and my personality has been like this from day one” he added.

The new India, according to one of the country’s most followed sporting icons, is the one that’s not afraid to take up challenges.

Currently team India is on Australian tour for three-match ODI and T20 series and four-match test series against Australia.

ODI and T20 series have concluded with Australia winning the ODI series 2-1 and India winning the T20 series 2-1.

Now it’s time for the much awaited four match test series between top two teams. It will be more interesting to watch how team India will play tests outside India especially in Australia as it will be challenging.

We wish team India all the best for their four-match test series against Australia.
