What to Know

The New York Jets are home Sunday, but with the point spread against them by 6 points, it might not be quite the welcoming they would prefer. New York and the New England Patriots will face off in an AFC East battle at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. The Jets have not won a single game against New England in their most recent matchups, going 0-10 since November of 2016.

New York was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap last week as they fell 19-14 to the Carolina Panthers. One thing working slightly against New York was the run-of-the-mill game of their most targeted running back, RB Tevin Coleman, who rushed for 24 yards on nine carries.

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 10-10 at halftime, but New England was not quite the Miami Dolphins’ equal in the second half when they met last week. It could have gone either way late during winning time for the Patriots or the Dolphins, but it was Miami snatching the 17-16 win. No one had a standout game offensively for New England, but WR Nelson Agholor led the way with one touchdown. QB Mac Jones ended up with a passer rating of 143.30.

Most of the squad’s points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed ten. K Nick Folk delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We’ll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
